A unique and little known naturally occurring but increasingly rare North American hybrid, the Dixie Wood Fern forms a broad 4 to 5 foot tall clump of sturdy, spectacular, upright, arching and wide bright green fronds that make a bold statement in shade or woodland gardens. Easy to grow and dependable, this semi-evergreen fern thrives in moist sites but once established tolerates the dry summers under the canopy of forests and large trees. Perfect for shade gardens or those tricky low-light areas of your garden where other plants just won’t grow. The lacy fronds of this delicate fern compliment other go-to shade classics such as the hosta lilies and heuchera.
