Description
With outstanding color and a unique texture like bamboo, ‘Goldfingers’ Mexican Orange Blossom was selected for its brilliant glowing foliage and dense mounding habit. With 6 hours or more of direct sunlight per day the finely divided palmate leaves will be bright yellow throughout the season. Otherwise, in more shade, the foliage will be chartreuse to light green. Abundant clusters of citrus scented white flowers resembling those of orange blossoms are an extra-added bonus in spring and again in fall. When left to grow naturally Goldfingers will form a highly attractive mounding evergreen shrub 4 to 5 feet tall and equally as wide, making it a fine choice as a specimen in smaller garden spaces and larger containers or in groupings or as a natural hedge where space allows. This glowing wonder will not go unnoticed in the garden!
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing 4 to 5 feet tall and equally as wide, Goldfingers Mexican Orange Blossom is ideal for use as a specimen in smaller garden spaces and containers or in groupings or as a colorful and fragrant hedge or background plant in larger landscape borders. Also excellent as an accent for a splash of color and unique texture in home foundation plantings. A fine addition to a sunny flowering shrub border, fragrance gardens, yellow theme gardens and the cottage garden.
Goldfingers Mexican Orange Blossom is easy to grow in most any moist but well-drained soil and lots of sun for the brightest golden foliage color. We suggest at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day. Foliage will be chartreuse or light green with more shade. Good drought tolerance when established. A light pruning after spring flowering will encourage continued bloom in fall. Feed in early spring with an organic plant food or good quality slow-release shrub and tree fertilizer.
