Description
An exceptionally cute and reliable little Creeping Thyme, ‘Highland Cream’ has lemon scented foliage of tiny variegated cream and green leaves that form a dense, low carpet perfect for filling gaps between stepping stones or as a border or groundcover that will drape over walls. In summer, tiny pink flowers add interest. Adaptable to many types of soil provided the drainage is good, ‘Highland Cream’ is a low maintenance perennial that will blanket those sunny difficult-to-grow areas. What’s more, Highland Cream Thyme offers a fresh thyme flavor that tastes great on chicken, pork and roasted vegetables.
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing only 1 to 2 inches tall and spreading to 24 inches or more over time, Highland Cream Creeping Thyme is ideal for use to fill the gaps between stepping stones and pavers or as a groundcover or underplanting for shrubs, roses, perennials and small trees, such as Japanese maples. Very nice around and growing over boulders or walls. Flowering bulbs will pop right through it in spring. Also serves nicely as a soil cover in container gardens grown above ground. A fine addition to rock gardens, herb gardens, pink color gardens and the Xeriscape (low water needs).
18 inches for mass planting; 12 inches to fill gaps between stepping stones or pavers

Growing Preferences
When planted right and in the right spot, Highland Cream Creeping Thyme is easy to grow. It grows best in a light, lightly moist to dry, well-drained soil and full sun. A little shade is okay. Will tolerate rainy periods but constantly soggy or wet soil is a killer. So make sure to plant in a well-drained site.
