Description
In our gardens, the Pink Drift Rose is perhaps the most floriferous and strongest performer of the series. LOADS of hot-pink flowers with white eye zones and golden-yellow center stamens cover the spreading mound of deep green foliage in mid spring and then on and off until the first hard freeze in late fall.
The new family of Drift Roses are comparable to the family of Knock Out Roses in disease resistance and low-maintenance, however are much smaller in size. They get their small size from being a cross between full-size groundcover roses and miniature roses. From the former they kept toughness, disease resistance and winter hardiness. From the miniatures, they inherited their well-managed size and repeat-blooming nature.
Landscape & Garden Uses
Being dwarfs, Drift Roses are ideal for use as a specimen in small garden spaces or solo or combined with other plants in pots, planters and other containers. In larger landscape spaces plant them in groupings, mass plantings, on embankments or as a border along walks and pathways for stunning floral displays and vibrant splashes of season-long color. The Drift Roses are ones that we don’t hesitate to recommend for use in home foundation plantings.
Suggested Spacing: 2 to 3 feet apart for groupings and solid borders; 5 feet or more apart for space between plants

Note: For our customers who live and garden north of USDA Plant Hardiness Zone 4a, where this Drift Rose variety is not reliably winter hardy, you’ll be happy to know it can be grown in containers that can be brought indoors during winter and placed back outside when temperatures warm up in spring.
Growing Requirements
Drift Roses are exceptionally easy to grow in average, well-drained soils with medium moisture in full sun to part shade. As with all other roses, the Drift roses require morning sun to dry the morning dew from their leaves, which prevents powdery mildew from forming on the leaves. Some afternoon shade or filtered sun is fine. We suggest 6 hours of direct sunlight per day for best flowering. Drift Roses do not require pruning, however, they do benefit from it. We cut our Drift Roses back to about 4 to 6 inches above the ground before new growth begins to emerge in late winter or very early spring. Plants will quickly flush out and start blooming with the arrival of spring temperatures. Deadheading spent flowers is not necessary however will encourage more new buds and flowers.
