Description
The smallest of the hardy Eucalyptus we offer, all grown up ‘Skinny Minny’ reaches about 12 feet height but with age and in ideal conditions might reach 18 feet tall. Its smaller size lends well to growing as a large shrub or lower branches can be removed to form a very attractive small tree. The fragrant blue-green leaves are very “skinny” on this one, hence the name, and provide a unique, soft texture all its own in the landscape. What’s more, the smooth bark with silver to cream furrows peels off a cinnamon color to reveal white underbark. Excellent for the landscape or in pots, planters and other containers.
Cold Hardiness
In McDonough, GA (zone 8A) 10 month old Eucalyptus trees, in pots and in ground, had no stress signs after a winter where temps reached in the low 20’s.
Landscape Uses
Slowly growing to about 12 feet tall in the ground and maybe one-half to two-thirds that size in a container, the Skinny Minny Eucalyptus tree is ideal for use as a specimen in smaller garden spaces or in groupings or as a hedge in larger spaces. A fine selection to grow in a pot. Will naturally form a large shrub however lower branches can be removed to form a highly attractive small tree. A fine addition to fragrance gardens and around swimming pools and other bodies of water.
Suggested Spacing: 6 feet apart for hedge; 12 feet or more apart for space between plants
Note: For our customers who live and garden north of USDA Plant Hardiness Zone 8a, where this Eucalyptus is not winter hardy, you’ll be happy to know it can be grown in containers that can be brought indoors during winter and placed back outside when temperatures warm up in spring.

I bought the one gallon pot sized plant. It is a beautiful, delicate eucalyptus variety, and a nice addition to my patio. The fragrance is not strong. More of an after note, but lovely. Perhaps the size or location affects the scent. I live in zone 7b and hope the plant will withstand the cooler winter temperature.——————————————Thanks for the great review!
